HomeRiver Group is looking for a New Business Development professional to join our team in Greensboro, North Carolina. The New Business Development position is responsible for all aspects of business development (sourcing leads, securing new business, contract negotiations with property owners, contact signings, etc.) and facilitate the handoff of clients to the operations team.


Core Responsibilities:

  • Develop and grow networking relationships to market HomeRiver Group's services to potential prospects.
  • Identify and secure potential client opportunities that would benefit from the HRG services.
  • Sign up new property management accounts for our Property Management Department. The minimum expectation is that the BD person closes at least 25 new accounts per month.
  • Meet and be responsive to potential clients inquiries.
  • This position requires strong interpersonal, communication, and writing skills.
  • The BD person will need to build the new owners information in our systems and inform the local staff (Property Managers, Inspectors, Turn Coordinator, etc.) that we have brought on a new account.
  • Communicate our expectations to new customers and communicate what they should expect from us.  
  • HomeRiver Group will provide some leads, but the BD person will need to build their own leads as well.
  • Community involvement is critical and the BD position is expected to attend regional networking events to build new relationships and secure business.


  • A Bachelor of Science degree in marketing or business management preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years Residential Property Management experience
  • North Carolina Real Estate License
  • Prior new business development experience is required
  • Strong sales experience and must be able to communicate with confidence
  • Must be driven, self-starter and be able to follow up with leads
  • Ability to travel locally 50-75% of the time.
